I have a question. How does the ranking system works? I think this topic belongs here. If it isn't, feel free to report this in order for moving. Back to the topic, so I joined earlier than 306152 but he's a Junior Member. I'm not moaning, but does it work by counting posts posted? If so, won't this be abused? Ex: Someone open a topic and keep spamming on it and become something real high? If that's how it works, what ranks are there? Can you also include the requirement for each rank? I know there's loads of question here, but I wish they could be answered.

SUMMARY:
How does the ranking system work?
Will the ranking system be abused?
What ranks are in the ranking system and the requirement?

Thanks in advanced for answering. Keep it up! ;)

The ranking system as of now is very simplistic. It counts posts posted.
0-19: New Member
20-39: Junior Member
40-79: Senior Member
80-159: Premium Member
160-319: Elite Member
320+: Platinum Member
There are also special ranks like Administrator and Moderator.

To tell you the truth, this was the default for the forum extension on the site, I didn't change anything to the ranking system.
It can be abused in theory if people start spamming redundant posts. So far, the moderators (aka me ;) ) have been keeping spam more or less in check.
I feel like soon we might have to open a thread somewhere here, in the general TokArts discussion forums, with guidelines on posting content in the community forums: what is encouraged and what isn't, how to post, all of that. Also, I think we might need some moderators soon. Not quite yet, but we're getting there. Maybe in another month.

What kind of ranking system would work best in your opinion for this website, Chan Wen Xu?

I'm pretty sure that playtesters, contributors, and moderators need their own separate ranks to be displayed to everyone. I'll work on this in the near future. Maybe even next week, as more volounteers start actively helping out with playtesting Multiverse: Cosmic Conquest they'll get a new shiny rank that they can show off to the other users.

Also, this topic probably belongs to the TokArts Suggestion Box, I'm moving it there right now.
Keep it up!

OK, thanks for answering! I'm happy I learnt more about the forum today. Thanks for taking your time! :) I think the current system works nice but the names and the amount of post should be configured. If I ever have a forum I think this will be my rankings:
0-9: New Member
10-49: Inactive Member
50-99: Normal Member
100-199: Active Member
200-399: Iron Member
400-599: Gold Member
600-799: Diamond Member
800-999: Platinum Member
1000+: Legendary Member

Maybe I will consider the following system where the variable named "reputation" affects your ranking:
1. Other users can click on + or - on your posts. This will increase or decrease your reputation by 1.
2. Users that start a topic can press the "Thanks!" button to those who reply. This increases their reputation by 3.

@306152 Nope. As he explained below, you exceeded 20 posts but is less than 40 posts, so you are placed in the Junior Member category. :)

Edit: This is my 20th post so I'm also a Junior Member now! :)
